We've been coming up with an angle that is really strong. I am a fan of Peter David, Pak and Loeb but I like very much what individual writers and artists have done through the decades. I only gravitate to "monster" superheroes- (Blade, Hellboy, Deadman, Hulk-) because I have no interest on the straight ones -even when I've been offered the keys to the kingdom.

Hope you enjoy what you hear!!

Great to have you here!
I'm eager to hear news about this show, and I honestly hope there are some 'horror' elements on it. 8-)

There are certainly a few writers who've come up with good angles for the Hulk, and though I love what some of the guys you've mentioned have done, I'd love to see what new ideas you and Eick can come up with in bringing Hulk up to date. Greg Pak and Peter David took many of the elements within the Hulk lore, stayed true to his core, dug into it and expounded on it, but I'd like to see you do the same.

The fact that you "gravitate to monster" type characters is what makes you perfect for the job, as Hulk is a 'monster' mostly in appearance but also with his surly attitude. In the original television show, one of the aspects that drew me in and kept my attention was waiting for the change from man to monster. I was about six and I remember clearly the scene when Banner was changing the tire and how it sent chills up my spine when he first changed. It was scary to me, but I was too dumbfounded to turn away. LOL. With the new show, I vote we send the kids to bed early.

With that said...PLEASE do not forget to add your special touch with the love for the monster side of things.

I'm very excited about this. Mr. Del Toro, do you know when you'll hear if you and David Eick get the green light?

Thanks for leaving a message Guillermo!

I also think that the Monsters hero are much more interesting than the classical!

I would love to see a Nocturnals movie...

Dan Brereton's Nocturnals? If so, heck yeah. That would definitely be something worth watching.

Uh guys...Let's keep Mr. Del Toro's focus on Hulk. ;)

What's up StrongestOneThereIs, I just saw your message on the other board. :)

Hulk being a monster is what drew me to the character as well, along with the dichotomy between he and Banner. As a long time comic reader, I fell in love with the fact that a really descent guy had this powerful monster inside of him. To me, and I don't hold my tongue about it, but when a writer understands what he's dealing with, Hulk is the greatest creation in comics hands down. He's more versatile than most give him credit for and he doesn't need a makeover to do it. I love the fact that he has many aspects of the best of different monsters in pulp fiction have to offer. He's the misunderstood monster like Frankenstein; he has the mental dichotomy of Jekyll and Hyde but worse; he's like Dracula only he feeds off of the ambient gamma/cosmic energy that keeps him living indefinitely, he's like the monsters from the movie Re-Animator or Chuck Norris' Silent Rage that when 'fatally' wounded regenerates to full strength in a matter of time.

There is so much to the character of Hulk that makes him exciting whether his physical abilities or his mental struggles.

That's one of the great things about the character, that you can go so many different directions with a comic about him. It's one of the reasons why he's my favorite comic book characters. I have yet to be fully satisfied with either of the two Hulk movie released in recent years. The Incredible Hulk was better but I wish there had been more story to it (the Hulk had just the opposite, too much story and too little action, although the escape from the military base and travel to the city was cool).
