Guillermo posted on the TORN message board that 3D talks have begun for THE HOBBIT. Here is his quote: I wouldn't read much on it just yet, but now, after all this time, after AVATAR doing the Box Office it did, we have had enquires from above about The Hobbit being in 3-D.
No impositions or heavy leaning. Just enquires. Just fulfilling my promise to let you all know if discussions ever started. As Guillermo states, don't rush to a conclusion here. This only means that "they" (meaning those "from above", i.e. studio execs) are probing with the usual questions - how will it affect the budget, how will it affect release date, etc..
